New Delhi [India], April 4 (ANI): Delhi’s Rouse Avenue court on Friday recorded the statement of former president of Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC), Manjeet Singh GK, as a prosecution witness in a 1984-anti Sikh riots case against Congress leader Jagdish Tytler.

Appearing before special judge Jitendra Singh, GK testified that in 2018 he had received an envelope containing a letter and a pen drive allegedly containing the voice recording of Tytler about his role in the riots.

GK said that he had later handed over the letter and the pendrive to the CBI, which was investigating the matter.

Tytler is facing trial in a case of the alleged killing of three Sikhs by a mob in the Pul Bangash area in 1984.

Special CBI Judge Jitendra Singh recorded Manjeet Singh GK‘s statement on the questions put to him by CBI public prosecutor Amit Jindal.

He said that the said recording on the pen drive was played in the office of DSGMC. In the said pen drive, there were revelations of the accused Jagdish Tytler about the killing of 100 Sikhs through him.

The other person with the accused Jagdish Tytlerin the said audio-video conversation/sting is Ravinder Singh Chauhan, GK said.

He further said that during a meeting, Ravinder Singh Chauhan admitted to the confession/revelation made by Jagdish Tytler in front of him, which were contained in the said pen drive. “I also audio-video recorded my conversation with Ravinder Singh Chauhan in the office of DSGMC“, GK added.

GK further testified that in the year 2008, Surinder Singh Granthi had met GK and said that that there was threats to him from the accused Jagdish Tytler.

GK said that he gave Surinder Singh courage and assured him that he and the whole Sikh community are with him and that he should tell the truth to the CBI and investigating agencies. The Chairman of the Lagos State Council of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Mustapha Adekunle Adio, widely known as Tafa Sego, has strongly condemned the recent assault on Miss Yetunde Amole, a female driver who was brutalised by a street thug in the Ajah area of Lagos.

Receiving Miss Amole at the union’s headquarters in Oko Oba, Agege, Adio expressed outrage over the incident and offered his full support.

He made it clear that the union does not tolerate violence or intimidation, especially against law-abiding drivers going about their daily work.

“The individual who assaulted Miss Amole is not a member of our union. He is a well-known area boy and not affiliated with the NURTW in any capacity,” Adio said.

Miss Amole had visited the NURTW headquarters to formally report her ordeal, a move that Adio praised as brave and necessary.

In response, he reassured her and all commercial drivers that the union is committed to protecting its members and partners from harassment.

“No genuine member of this union has any business with harassment or misconduct,” Adio stated. “Our members are trained to conduct themselves with discipline and respect.”

He lauded the swift intervention of the Lagos State Government in apprehending the suspect and emphasized that the union would continue to work closely with authorities to ensure justice is served.

“We will ensure that Yetunde Amole gets justice in this instance. This will serve as a strong warning to others not to harass any driver in the state,” he declared.

Adio concluded with a firm warning to union members: misconduct will not be tolerated under his leadership.

He also urged the public to show greater respect for commercial drivers, many of whom face daily risks just to earn a living.

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has warned the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, not to mistake the peaceful nature of Ijaw people for weakness.

According Eze, Wike must desist from meddling into the politics of Bayelsa State.

The party chieftain warned the Minister that Bayelsa people do not play politics of betrayal, gangsterism and bitterness.

He advised the minister to be wary of the dangerous path he allegedly wants to toe which could destabilize and distract the administration of Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State.

In a statement in Port Harcourt over the weekend, Eze, a former member of the APC Legacy media team, hailed Diri for nipping in the bud, the alleged ”evil and anti democratic plot by Wike to import political violence, thuggery, politics of rancour and acrimony into Bayelsa State.

Eze alleged that “Wike is busy plotting to replicate [the suspension of Gov Fubara, his deputy and lawmakers] by President Bola Tinubu, in Bayelsa State.

“So, plotting to import ground-swelling violence to Bayelsa, envisaging a declaration of another infamous state of emergency, is a ruse, that can never happen in the State,” Eze added.

“Governor Diri cannot stand aloof and watch Wike perpetrate dastardly acts in Bayelsa State.

“I urge Wike to bury the thought of fueling crisis in the Bayelsa PDP, with the hope of allowing the attendant consequences to snowball into a state-wide political violence.

“I caution Wike to desist from his infantile thinking and hallucination, and wake up to the realization that no amount of devious plots would make President Tinubu, to declare a state of emergency in Bayelsa State.

“With the ceaseless and senseless killings in the Plateau, Edo, Zamafara and other States, Wike ought to have advised Tinubu to declare a state of emergency in Nigeria to justify his illegal declaration of emergency in Rivers State.

President Tinubu should not be arm twisted to believe that Diri’s opposition to hosting of the mega rally in support of him and Wike as well as the inauguration of a political group, ‘The New Associates,’ in Bayelsa, is an affront on Mr President’s political interest, because that has been the tactics of Wike, just to curry favour from the presidency.

“Wike knows that Bayelsa is the cradle of the Ijaw nation, warning that their peaceful nature should not be mistaken for weakness, as no individual, in the name of playing dirty and do or die politics, has monopoly of violence or brain box of inciting unrest. “
