~ Imo State NURTW Set To Provide 80 Vehicles Per Each LGA For The Movement Of INEC Staffs And Election Materials Across The Booths In All The Wards In Imo State ~
Ahead of the upcoming gubernatorial election in the three States of the federation on the 11th November 2023 which includes Bayelsa, Kogi and Imo State.
Federal Government have partnered with the National Union Of Road Transport Workers for provision of vehicles in all the States where the governorship election will be holding on the 11th November 2023.
Inline with the partnership, Imo State council of the national union of road transport workers under the chairmanship of Hon Amb Comr Samuel Udeh JP (Eze Umuokorobia) convened an emergency meeting of the 27 local government area branch chairmen of the union, at the State secretariat of the union in Imo State.
Sir Dennis Tochukwu Nneji who represented the union at the partnership meeting, informed the branch chairmen about the partnership for easy movement of the INEC staffs and election materials.
In the Chairman’s address, Chief Udeh reminded the branch chairmen about the rebranded image of the union in the State, and charged them to be of good behaviour and respectful manner through out the exercise, while urging them to play well their role for hitch free movements of the INEC staffs for a successful governorship election come 11th November the scheduled date for the election in the State.
Sir Dennis Tochukwu Nneji tasked the union members to make provision of 80 vehicles per each local government areas in the State for the movement of the election materials for the election and the INEC staffs.
In conclusion; Chief Samuel Udeh, called on members of the State union to at all times, uphold in high esteem the image of the union throughout the electioneering period.
He continued; none of union member should be found wanting or involved in any detrimental act or character that will affect the new image of the union in the State.
He warned that union will not tolerate any form of lapses from any branch in the State, regarding provision of vehicles that will converge the INEC staffs down to the respective booths and wards in the State.
