A social activist, Moses Paul has debunked a video purportedly showing former Anambra governor, Peter Obi leading a protest.

Moses in a tweet said the video was recorded on the day Peter Obi visited the Labour Party HQ to settle the party crisis.

“The attached video is circulating online, purportedly showing Mr. Peter Obi leading a protest in Abuja, is a blatant fabrication concocted by mischief-makers like Reno. A closer examination of the video reveals that it was actually taken on the day Mr. @PeterObi visited the Labour Party HQ, where the Labour Party and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Political Commission clashed, and he had to step in to make peace.

“The video was selectively edited and twisted to create a false narrative. The original footage shows Mr. @PeterObi attended both to the NLC Political Commission and the Labour Party leadership. It’s clear that the individuals behind this manipulated video have been paid to spread falsehoods and cause confusion. Their malicious intent is evident in the way they have distorted the truth. Let’s not fall for their lies and mischievous antics. Instead, let’s focus on facts and verify information before sharing.

“Mr. @PeterObi consistently maintains that protests are a fundamental democratic right of citizens, enshrined in various international human rights instruments for which Nigeria is no exception. As long as protests remain peaceful, they are a legitimate and essential aspect of democratic participation”.
