Biafra Government Demands Immediate Release of Speed Darlington, Threatens Action Against “Unauthorized Arrests

The Biafra Government has issued a stern demand for the immediate release of Mr. Speed Darlington, a Biafran citizen allegedly detained by what it describes as “unauthorized terrorists in Nigeria security uniforms.” The statement from the Biafra administration warns that the Nigerian state is jeopardizing diplomatic relations by disregarding the sovereignty of Biafra in the absence of its Prime Minister.

According to the Biafra Government, the only legitimate security institutions within Biafra’s claimed territory are the Biafra Ministry of Defence and the Biafra Police Force, established under the Act 01/2024. The administration labeled any arrests carried out by external entities as acts of terrorism and vowed to respond decisively.

The statement also outlined a clear ultimatum. It declared that if Mr. Darlington is not released by December 2, 2024, the Biafra Defence Forces will deploy a rescue operation to secure his freedom.

“The Biafra Government will not tolerate the kidnapping of its citizens under the guise of unauthorized arrests. Our territory and citizens are under the protection of the Biafra Police Force and Ministry of Defence. Any other entity operating within our borders is deemed a hostile force,” the statement read.

This development comes amidst escalating tensions between the Nigerian government and pro-Biafra groups advocating for secession. Observers warn that the situation could lead to further unrest if a diplomatic resolution is not reached promptly.
