Asari Dokubo, a former Niger Delta militant leader, has been vocal about his displeasure with Fubara, denying his Ijaw heritage and even wishing death upon him. Dokubo’s outburst seems to be linked to Fubara’s alleged reneging on an agreement with Nyesom Wike.

He tauntingly said “Agreement is agreement” and even asked his supporters if they knew the agreement that was signed, to which they responded with a unanimous “no”.

Dokubo also posed a rhetorical question to his supporters, asking if they would be pleased if he traveled to Mecca and someone killed his supporters. Predictably, they responded with a resounding “no”.

This comment highlights Dokubo’s concern for his supporters’ safety and well-being, while also underscoring his own willingness to take bold action.

Dokubo’s comments come amidst his broader criticisms of Wike, who he accuses of working with President Tinubu to destabilize Rivers State. Notably, Dokubo had previously spent over $2 million supporting President Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election.

It’s clear that Dokubo is deeply invested in the politics of the region and is not afraid to speak his mind, even if it means making provocative statements.
