The suspension of Timberlake’s license stems from his refusal to take a breathalyzer test during a traffic stop in the Hamptons in June. Timberlake, who appeared at the hearing via video conference, has pleaded not guilty to the charges. The suspension is expected to last for six months.

Additionally, the judge warned Timberlake’s attorney, Ed Burke, with a gag order due to comments he made outside the courtroom last week. Judge Carl Irace stated, “It appears to be an attempt to taint the case before it even starts.”

Burke had previously remarked that the police made “very significant errors” and anticipated the charge would be dismissed. He also maintained that Timberlake was not intoxicated. “He was not drunk,” Burke told reporters. “Justin Timberlake was not drunk.”

The Suffolk County District Attorney’s office, which is handling the case, described the issue with the paperwork as a “ministerial error” and noted that an amended charging document was filed on July 2. Spokesperson Emily O’Neil clarified in an email, “The facts and circumstances of the case have not been changed or amended.”

Justin Timberlake was arrested in Sag Harbor, Long Island, on a driving while intoxicated (DWI) charge after refusing to take a chemical test three times. He was charged with the misdemeanor on June 18 after police reported that he ran a stop sign and veered out of his lane. The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. when an officer stopped him and determined he was intoxicated, according to court documents.

The documents described Timberlake’s condition at the time: “His eyes were bloodshot and glassy, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady on his feet, and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests.”

Timberlake, 43, told the officer that he had one martini and was following friends home, according to the documents. After being arrested and taken to a police station in nearby East Hampton, he refused to take a breath test.

The 10-time Grammy winner began his career as a young Disney Mouseketeer, rose to fame as part of the boy band NSYNC, and later embarked on a solo recording career in the early 2000s.

MANILA (Reuters) – The Philippines evacuated tens of thousands of people from their homes and cancelled dozens of flights on Saturday, as a super typhoon threatened to unleash heavy rains and powerful winds that could trigger floods and storm surges.

Packing winds of 185 kph (115 mph), the storm Man-Yi was heading for the eastern part of the main island of Luzon, spurring the weather agency to raise its second-highest alert for the provinces of Catanduanes and Camarines Sur.

“Pepito is approaching its peak intensity,” it added, using the domestic name for the super typhoon, which it said was likely to make landfall near Catanduanes on Saturday night or early Sunday.

Close to 180,000 people in the central region of Bicol have been evacuated, data from the disaster agency showed.

The sixth tropical cyclone to hit the Philippines in a month, Man-Yi has also forced cancellation of dozens of flights in the eastern Visayas region facing the Pacific Ocean.

The weather agency also warned of dangerous storm surges that could exceed 3 m (10 ft) in coastal areas of Luzon.

While Man-Yi was expected to weaken as it moved over the island, it added, the storm would probably stay a typhoon until it reached the South China Sea.

About 20 tropical storms strike the Philippines each year on average, bringing heavy rain, strong winds and deadly landslides.

In October, floods and landslides brought by Tropical Storm Trami and Typhoon Kong-rey killed 162 people with 22 missing, government figures show.

Four storms churned in the western Pacific ocean at the same time this month for the first time since records began in 1951, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.

VeryDarkMan’s court hearing against Femi Falana and Falz took place today, and he seems to be celebrating. However, the court actually ruled in favor of Femi Falana, ordering VeryDarkMan to delete defamatory videos about him.

It appears VeryDarkMan had made some allegations against Falana and his son, Falz, which the court deemed defamatory. The court also granted Falana’s request to serve VeryDarkMan with court processes through his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju Esq.

Despite the court’s ruling, VeryDarkMan seems to be in high spirits, singing and dancing after the hearing. It’s unclear what the outcome of the case will be, but for now, VeryDarkMan appears to be taking it in stride.

Ekwutosblog gathered that Gunmen attacked an army checkpoint earlier today, Wednesday 13th November, 2024 at Ekenobizi, a border community between Abia and Imo states in Umuopara, Umuahia South Local Government Area, killing two soldiers.

A military source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said the attack occurred around 6:18 am. The gunmen arrived in a white Lexus (350/400) model, although the exact number of attackers could not be confirmed.

Confirming the incident in a press release on Wednesday, Lieutenant Colonel Jonah Unuakhalu of the Joint Task Force South East Operation UDO KA said: “In the early hours of today, 13 November 2024, troops of the Joint Task Force South East Operation UDO KA, deployed at a checkpoint along the Umuahia – Owerri Road in Umuahia South Local Government Area of Abia State, came under attack by faceless group.

“During the attack, the gallant troops were able to repel the assault, forcing the attackers to retreat in disarray with gunshot wounds, abandoning one Sienna and one Lexus Jeep used in the attack. However, in the ensuing firefight, two soldiers paid the supreme price.”

The Joint Task Force appealed to residents of the South East, particularly those in Abia State, for credible information to help track down the fleeing attackers and combat criminal elements in the region.

The force reiterated its commitment to protecting lives and property in line with global best practices and the rules of engagement.
