On this Democracy Day, we gather to celebrate a system that has proven its worth through the annals of history. Democracy stands as a beacon of liberty, freedom from suppression, flexibility, and independence. It is an unwavering advocate for unity, a path to progress, and a preserver of our ethical, ethnic, and national values.
We owe it to ourselves, our children, and the generations yet to come to uphold and cherish the true essence of democracy. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that the definition, context, and reality of democracy remain untarnished. When the values of truth are ignored, abuse becomes inevitable. Therefore, we must all make a concerted effort, a sacrifice we must render, a clarion call we must answer, and a burden we must bear to stand in solidarity in defense of democracy and all it represents.
I urge every Imolite residing in Owerri Municipal Council to continue supporting the Shared Prosperity vision of Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma. This vision has transformed our municipality into an economic hub for growth, and the remarkable infrastructural upliftment we are witnessing deserves our accolades. Let us continue to applaud the Governor’s efforts and enjoy the benefits of these initiatives.
