Nigerian singer, Inetimi Alfred Odom, popularly known as Timaya, has voiced his concerns about the ongoing hardships affecting people around the world.

In a recent interview on Channels, the singer highlighted that while economic challenges are a global issue, the situation in Nigeria is notably more severe than in other parts of the world.

He also discussed how the rising cost of living has impacted the music industry.

“Things are really hard. I feel it for people because if people are not happy, I can’t be happy, too. I pay bills. I help a lot of people. So, I understand what people are going through. I’m also feeling it,” he said.

“If I was paying a certain amount for my staff, my mom now upkeeps his high; you don’t expect everything to be normal to me, so I’m feeling it also. You don’t expect things to be normal.

“Even politicians are crying, too, not to talk of me. The only way you can meet up with the demand of this country is when you’re earning in dollars. If you’re earning forex and you convert it to naira, that’s how you can ball.

“But if you go to America right now, things are still hard there because they’re earning in dollars and spending in dollars. It’s hard everywhere. The world is hard right now, but Nigeria is harder.”

“Currently, you need a lot of money to promote music. Before, we didn’t even bother about shooting music videos. Even if we were shooting a video, it cost just N1.5 million that time. So when you call in the young artists and they tell you 50 million, you shout, 30 million, you say for what, so you understand there was a lot of money that was put in for that to happen.”

“As long as I’m alive, my wife is my wife no matter what she does. If she has an affair, it’s her business” – Peter Obi.

Former Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi has declared  unwavering commitment to wife, Margaret Brownson.

The former Anambra Governor, on the Honest Bunch Podcast, spoke passionately about the depth of their bond, describing it as an unbreakable resolve that goes beyond vows.

Obi emphasised that his love and dedication to Margaret would never falter, regardless of any circumstances.

He calmly stated that nothing, not even infidelity or being shot, could shake his commitment to stand by her side for life.

Obi said: “No matter what my wife does today. I can’t separate from her. I can never. Even if she like let her shoot me, as long as I am alive, she’s my wife

“No matter what she does, I won’t marry [someone else]. She’s my wife. Whatever she likes, let her do because what is she going to do that would offend me? What? Maybe have an extramarital affair? It’s her business. It’s not me. They won’t say two of us have an affair. They would say Peter Obi is a very good man who married a woman who is [promiscuous]. That is it!

“You can’t quantify me with the life of my wife or children. No. We have different lifestyles. Even if I’m traveling with my wife, people have seen it. Sometimes we are in the same plane but in different classes. She is in business class and I’m in economy. Because that suits her and it doesn’t conflict with my interests.”

Peter Obi and Margaret have been married for over 30 years.
