Renowned American singer-songwriter John Legend made a surprise appearance in Lagos, Nigeria, on Tuesday, February 25, as part of the highly anticipated Global Citizen’s Move Afrika tour. The star-studded event, hosted by celebrated media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, also showcased performances by Nigerian songstress Simi and DJ Consequence.
However, the highlight of the evening was undoubtedly John Legend’s show-stopping headline act, which left the sold-out Lagos audience in awe. Accompanied by his wife, model Chrissy Teigen, John Legend delivered a captivating setlist featuring his iconic hits, including “Ordinary People,” “PDA,” “Green Light,” “All of Me,” and “Refuge.” The crowd was further delighted when Simi joined John Legend on stage for an unforgettable duet.
According to Hugh Evans, Co-Founder & CEO of Global Citizen, the 2025 Move Afrika tour marks a significant milestone in establishing a pan-continental music touring circuit, providing a platform for both international and local artists to thrive for years to come.
