Recall that the feud between Ebuka Obi, the founder of Zion Ministry, and blogger Chizorom Harrison Ofoegbu, popularly known as “Ijele Speaks,” began when Ijele Speaks accused Ebuka Obi of performing fake miracles.
This accusation led to a series of events that ultimately resulted in Ijele Speaks’ arrest and detention.
Ebuka Obi filed a petition against Ijele Speaks, accusing him of cyberstalking, threat to life, and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace. Officer Peter Ejike, who was later dismissed for fraud, colluded with Ebuka Obi to prosecute Ijele Speaks.
During his detention, Ijele Speaks’ health deteriorated significantly, and he was allegedly poisoned, leading to kidney failure and cardiac arrests. His lawyer, Prince Okechukwu Emezu, wrote to the Inspector General of Police, highlighting the unlawful detention and seeking intervention to prevent a potential tragedy.
The situation drew widespread criticism, with many calling for Ijele Speaks’ release and condemning the actions of Officer Ejike and Ebuka Obi.
The Nigerian Police Force have eventually dismissed Officer Ejike for fraud, and it is unclear what further actions will be taken in the case. Stay tuned for further updates, Please follow ekwutosblog on Instagram.
