He narrated an incident where a pastor of the church was arrested abroad for addressing a gathering with the phrase “ladies and gentlemen.”
Speaking on the topic “My Father’s House” during the church’s monthly thanksgiving program at the Throne of Grace, the RCCG national headquarters in Ebute-Metta, Lagos, Pastor Adeboye highlighted the increasing moral decadence in the world. He urged Christians to remain steadfast in their faith, emphasizing that the end times are near.
“The end is nearer than you think,” he warned. “Things are getting worse, and this is a wake-up call. One of my pastors abroad was arrested, and his offence was simply addressing a gathering as ‘ladies and gentlemen.’ Some people reported him for discrimination, asking, ‘What about those who are neither ladies nor gentlemen?’”
Pastor Adeboye also recounted another troubling anecdote about a woman who referred to her dog as her husband during a discussion.
“She was asked about her husband, and she replied, ‘I took him to the vet before coming. He doesn’t talk.’ When asked who her husband was, she described a very handsome dog. Brethren, we are closer to the end than ever before,” he said.
He admonished Christians to take their faith seriously, urging them not to be swayed by the world’s moral decline.
“Those of you already in Christ, take this matter seriously. Do not let anyone weaken your stand. God is holy. Those still playing church—singing, clapping, and enjoying things without genuine commitment—remember, Jesus is coming back. The devil wants to harvest you, but you must not give him the opportunity. I want to see you in my Father’s house,” he emphasized.
Pastor Adeboye also reflected on the moral uprightness of earlier generations, noting their reverence for God and commitment to His commandments.
“In the olden days, people feared God, lived morally upright lives, and followed His commandments. Let us strive to return to that path,” he urged.
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has expressed deep concern over the sharp decline in moral values globally.

The founder of Salvation Ministries, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, has claimed that Jesus Christ was at parallel with poverty.
Pastor Ibiyeomie said Jesus Christ never associated with the poor while he was on earth because he disliked poverty.
He disclosed this while speaking with his congregation.
Pastor Ibiyeomie asserted that the death of Jesus Christ and resurrection were not only to bring salvation but also to free believers from poverty.
He argued that remaining in poverty after coming to Christ reflects a lack of spiritual understanding.
Ibiyeomie said, “Jesus never visited any poor person in his house, check your bible. That means he hates poverty. He visited Lazarus, they were not poor, they were giving him food.
“He visited a sinner, Zacchaeus, who was rich. Tell me one poor man Jesus entered his house. He hates poverty, that’s the meaning.
“He hates people who are poor. He died for you not to be poor. How can you now come to church with some kind of mentality?
“You can come poor but you’re not permitted to remain poor. There’s nothing wrong with you coming to Christ as a poor man, but it’s wrong for you to remain poor. It is wrong.”

The Senior Pastor of Power World Ministries International, Rev. Dr. Uche Ume, has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Mr. Kel Armstrong Amobi, host and producer of the KAATalks Podcast, over his claims that he was engaging in fake miracles.
The cleric demanded a full and public retraction of what he called defamatory statements made against him in videos posted on social media between April 8 and 9, 2025.
He spoke in a statement made available to Ekwutosblog through his legal counsel, Barr. Maxwell Opara.
Among other things, Amobi had claimed that, “There is nobody close to me that he hasn’t called, begging me to forgive him. But what he needs is to stop the staged miracles, false prophecies, and extortion.
“He is manipulating poor people in Ebonyi State, collecting money from children and their mothers.
“You’ve been ruining people’s lives with your so-called nonsense miracles and fake prophecies in Ebonyi, Aba, and other places. Do you know how many people may have lost their lives because of you?”
Rev. Ume’s legal team asserted that those statements were not only unfounded but had caused significant harm to his personal and ministerial reputation.
He said that failure to comply within 48 hours upon receipt of the letter, he would be left with no option but to explore all legal remedies available “to protect our client’s name and reputation.”
