A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has warned the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, not to mistake the peaceful nature of Ijaw people for weakness.
According Eze, Wike must desist from meddling into the politics of Bayelsa State.
The party chieftain warned the Minister that Bayelsa people do not play politics of betrayal, gangsterism and bitterness.
He advised the minister to be wary of the dangerous path he allegedly wants to toe which could destabilize and distract the administration of Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State.
In a statement in Port Harcourt over the weekend, Eze, a former member of the APC Legacy media team, hailed Diri for nipping in the bud, the alleged ”evil and anti democratic plot by Wike to import political violence, thuggery, politics of rancour and acrimony into Bayelsa State.
Eze alleged that “Wike is busy plotting to replicate [the suspension of Gov Fubara, his deputy and lawmakers] by President Bola Tinubu, in Bayelsa State.
“So, plotting to import ground-swelling violence to Bayelsa, envisaging a declaration of another infamous state of emergency, is a ruse, that can never happen in the State,” Eze added.
“Governor Diri cannot stand aloof and watch Wike perpetrate dastardly acts in Bayelsa State.
“I urge Wike to bury the thought of fueling crisis in the Bayelsa PDP, with the hope of allowing the attendant consequences to snowball into a state-wide political violence.
“I caution Wike to desist from his infantile thinking and hallucination, and wake up to the realization that no amount of devious plots would make President Tinubu, to declare a state of emergency in Bayelsa State.
“With the ceaseless and senseless killings in the Plateau, Edo, Zamafara and other States, Wike ought to have advised Tinubu to declare a state of emergency in Nigeria to justify his illegal declaration of emergency in Rivers State.
President Tinubu should not be arm twisted to believe that Diri’s opposition to hosting of the mega rally in support of him and Wike as well as the inauguration of a political group, ‘The New Associates,’ in Bayelsa, is an affront on Mr President’s political interest, because that has been the tactics of Wike, just to curry favour from the presidency.
“Wike knows that Bayelsa is the cradle of the Ijaw nation, warning that their peaceful nature should not be mistaken for weakness, as no individual, in the name of playing dirty and do or die politics, has monopoly of violence or brain box of inciting unrest. “

The Niger Delta Youth Congress (NDYC) has commended Mr. Mele Kyari for providing stability and strategic leadership during his tenure as Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).
NDYC, in a statement by its national coordinator, Comrade Israel Uwejeyan, dismissed calls by a group called “Concerned Citizens Against Corruption” for Kyari to be probed.
Uwejeyan described the statement as an “orchestrated campaign of calumny” designed to discredit Kyari’s achievements in office.
The NDYC highlighted several achievements during Kyari’s leadership, including the transformation of the NNPCL into a commercially-oriented entity, rehabilitation of refineries through public-private partnerships, combating oil theft through strategic security collaborations, advancing the “Decade of Gas” initiative, attracting international investment, and implementing digital modernization across operations.
According to the youth organization, accusations regarding secretive debt arrangements with third-party companies like Matrix Energy demonstrate a fundamental misunderstanding of standard petroleum trading practices.
The NDYC maintains that oil lifting contracts and similar agreements are standard industry instruments subject to regulatory oversight.
Uwejeyan urged the Attorney General to disregard what they termed a “sponsored circus” against Kyari, suggesting instead that his leadership should be studied as an exemplary case of corporate transformation and energy sector development.

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, says it is being unfairly accused and blamed for insecurity plaguing Imo State, stressing that emerging information has vindicated its position.
This was contained in a statement by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful,
The group referred to a viral video in which an individual, allegedly known as “Gentle Yahoo,” claimed involvement in criminal activities in Imo State.
The statement said the individual made allegations about being influenced by certain actors with vested interests.
IPOB stated that the video supports its repeated denials of involvement in the insecurity in the region.
“We, the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, once again assert that we are not responsible for the insecurity, kidnappings, or other criminal activities in Imo State.
“The video circulating online, which features a man identifying himself as part of a group previously involved in such activities, suggests attempts were made to implicate IPOB, the Eastern Security Network, ESN, and our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu,” IPOB said.
The group stressed that it has consistently communicated through official statements and broadcasts that its mission is peaceful and geared toward the advocacy for self-determination.
It also urged the public and media to exercise caution and conduct thorough investigations before attributing blame.
“We expect responsible media and public institutions to critically evaluate such claims and avoid hastily labeling IPOB or ESN in matters of regional insecurity,” the statement added.
IPOB called for transparency and accountability in governance and encouraged residents of Imo State to demand clarity and justice concerning the ongoing insecurity in their communities.
