He said it, he repeated it, and he continues to proclaim it. Putin wants to conquer Ukraine, according to him, it’s a matter of survival for Russia.

For the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, “the success of the Russian Federation depends on its ability to attract the greatest possible number of people to the battlefield. And if we don’t change course quickly, if we don’t mobilize all our capacities, this will allow Putin to win the war in Ukraine”.

Alexander Musienko, head of the Ukrainian military legal research center, estimates “the projects that Russia has absolutely failed to achieve. They should have captured all of Ukraine long ago, but they simply cannot. And they will constantly need reinforcements, they will bring in more and more forces, but they will not be able to achieve their goals. Everyone knows that Putin will go all the way, he has no choice, there is no way back.”

Despite this, Musienko is optimistic:

“They have problems with personnel, there are problems with the manning units, there are problems and gaps with the personnel, while on paper everything is fine, but in reality, de facto, these forces do not exist. It doesn’t work with the Russians.”
