We mistook him for an armed robb£r — Kogi police admits to k+lling an innocent lawyer.

The Kogi state police command has opened up on the k+lling of Barrister Elias Ugwu last week Friday in Alade village, Dekina LGA of the state.

The victim had gone to pay ransom for his kidnapped cousin when he ran into a police team that k+lled him mistakenly. The police admitted that the Nsukka-based lawyer was k+lled in error.

In a statement by its Public Relations Officer, SP. Williams Anya on Thursday in Lokoja, the police said they mistook the late lawyer to be a member of the armed robbery gang that robb£d some banks a day earlier.

A Nigerian businessman, Onyelike Darlington, has advised women to at least be submissive if they can’t support their husbands financially.
“If you can’t support your husband financially, at least be submissive. You can’t be broke & lack home training at the same time,” he wrote in a Facebook post on Thursday.

The funeral of Abisola Kola-Daisi, daughter of former Oyo state gov, late Abiola Ajimobi, is currently holding at RCCG, City of David Parish, in Lagos.

 

Abisola, who was the eldest child of the late governor, passed away on March 27 in the UK after battling with cancer. She is survived by her husband, three children, her mum and siblings.

She was 44 years old.

 

May her soul rest in peace, Amen.

An elderly woman attempted to take her own life by jumping from the Sankulay Kunda Bridge in the Gambia on Thursday morning, April 17, 2025.
After she entered the water, a local diver identified as Musa Foon, spotted her, quickly jumped in and rescued her.
Speaking with the media, Musa explained that the woman recently lost her son.
“She was talking about her son, who recently passed away. She is currently in police custody in Janjangbureh,” Musa added.
