Biden’s announcement came after Israel’s Cabinet approved the cease-fire agreement. Before the deal was struck Israel launched waves of attacks in Lebanon.

Israel’s security cabinet greenlights truce agreement with Lebanon’s Hezbollah militant group Israeli warplanes struck Beirut’s southern suburbs ahead of the cabinet’s truce decision Evacuation warnings issued in central Beirut for the first time Israel says will act ‘forcefully’ if Lebanon deal breached

Here are the latest developments in the crisis in Israel, Lebanon, Gaza and other parts of the Middle East on Tuesday, November 26:

Biden announces cease-fire between Israel and Hezbollah

US President Joe Biden announced that a cease-fire has been reached between Israel and Hezbollah militants.

He said fighting across the border will end at 4 a.m. Lebanon time

The US and France brokered the truce that aims to end to the fighting triggered by Hamas’ attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. Hezbollah and Hamas are both backed by Iran.

Biden spoke after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accepted the truce.

“The length of the cease-fire will depend on what happens in Lebanon,” Netanyahu said.

The Lebanese Cabinet, that includes members of Hezbollah’s political wing, will reportedly meet on Wednesday to formally approve it.

Israelis divided over truce, poll finds

The Times of Israel reports a snap poll by Israel’s Channel 12 indicates that Israelis are split on the proposed cease-fire with Hezbollah.

When asked about their stance on the arrangement, 37% expressed support, 32% opposed it, and 31% were undecided.

The poll further reveals a stark contrast in opinions among political lines.

Among supporters of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s coalition, only 20% back the deal, while 45% oppose it and 35% remain uncertain.

In contrast, 50% of opposition voters support the cease-fire agreement.

Israel’s national security minister opposes the truce

Israel’s far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir said he opposed the cease-fire deal with Hezbollah, describing it as a “historic mistake.”

The agreement does not ensure the return of Israelis to their homes in the country’s north, he said on social media.

“In order to leave Lebanon, we must have our own security belt,” Ben-Gvir added.

The comments come after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he was ready to implement the deal and would present it to his full Cabinet later in the evening.

Netanyahu says cease-fire with Hezbollah would isolate Hamas

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has indicated that a cease-fire in Lebanon is unlikely to facilitate a truce or hostage-release agreement in Gaza, where Israeli forces continue their war with Hamas.

Speaking after Israel’s security cabinet approved a cease-fire deal with Hezbollah, Netanyahu said the truce would allow Israel to “intensify” pressure on Hamas and focus on the “Iranian threat.”

“When Hezbollah is out of the picture, Hamas is left alone in the fight. Our pressure on it will intensify,” Netanyahu said.

Netanyahu to present Hezbollah cease-fire deal to Israeli Cabinet

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is asking Israel’s cabinet to approve a cease-fire deal to stop fighting against Hezbollah militants in Lebanon.

He made the announcement on Tuesday after meeting with his security cabinet.

It could end the current fighting that has dragged on for over a year and intensified in September.

It led to thousands of deaths in Lebanon and nearly 100 Israeli civilians and soldiers killed.

Nearly 60,000 people in Israel and 1 million in Lebanon have had to flee their homes.

Netanyahu said a Lebanon truce will allow Israel to “focus on Iranian threat” but warned tough action will be taken against Hezbollah in the event of violations.

Iran-backed Hezbollah, considered a terror group by some countries, including the US and Germany, began attacking Israel on October 8, 2023, a day after the Hamas-led terror attack on southern Israel.

Israel stepped up its bombing campaign in September and mounted a ground operation.

Blinken says Israel-Hezbollah cease-fire deal ‘in the final stages’

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said efforts to secure a cease-fire between Israel and the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah were “in the final stages.”

“We are tracking this very closely. I hope and believe we can get this over the finish line,” he said at a G7 foreign ministers meeting in Italy.

Blinken said he hoped that “by de-escalating tensions in the region, it can also help us to end the conflict in Gaza.”

Israel pounds Lebanon ahead of truce decision

Israeli warplanes have hit Beirut’s southern suburbs with a wave of airstrikes just before Israel’s cabinet was set to discuss a ceasefire deal with Iran-backed Hezbollah.

A senior Israeli official and Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib appeared optimistic a deal could be reached.

But despite the possibility of an imminent diplomatic breakthrough, hostilities were still raging on Tuesday.

Israeli strikes hit parts of Beirut’s densely-populated southern suburbs, a Hezbollah stronghold. The Israeli military said one barrage of strikes had hit 20 targets in the city in just 120 seconds.

Israel had issued its biggest evacuation warning yet, ordering civilians to leave 20 locations. Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee said his country’s air force was conducting a “widespread attack” on Hezbollah targets across the city.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah has kept up rocket fire into Israel.

Hezbollah is considered a terrorist organization by the US, Germany and several Sunni Arab countries, while the EU lists its armed wing as a terrorist group.

German foreign minister sees hope for Israel-Hezbollah truce

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock has said that — after more than a year of violence — a ceasefire between Israel and the Hezbollah militia in Lebanon is “within reach.”

At the meeting of the G7 foreign ministers in Italy, Baerbock spoke of progress towards a political solution, crediting the direct mediation of the United States and France.

The German government had worked intensively on this with “closely coordinated shuttle diplomacy.”

“We are at a critical moment right now — perhaps a moment that also gives us hope,” said Baerbock at the meeting, which is being held in the small town of Fiuggi in central Italy.

The minister added: “Giving up, despite setbacks, is simply not an option.”

UN rights chief ‘gravely concerned’ about Lebanon violence

The United Nations human rights chief has voiced concern about the escalation of hostilities in Lebanon, where his office said nearly 100 people had been reported killed by Israeli airstrikes in recent days.

While Israel has been locked in fighting with Lebanese armed group Hezbollah since October last year, fighting has escalated dramatically in recent months.

“UN Human Rights Chief Volker Türk is gravely concerned by the escalation in Lebanon with at least 97 people reportedly killed in Israeli airstrikes between the 22nd and 24th of November,” Jeremy Laurence, a spokesperson for the Office of the High Commissioner of Human Rights, told a Geneva press briefing.

The comments come as Israel’s security Cabinet prepares to meet on Tuesday afternoon to discuss a proposed cease-fire deal in its war with Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Lebanon truce deal to be decided soon, says deputy foreign minister

Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Sharren Haskel says the country’s security Cabinet is set to meet later in the day to discuss a cease-fire deal.

However, she declined “to go into details about it because of the sensitivity of the issue.”

Haskel also gave no exact time for the meeting. “There needs to be a decision, a discussion,” she said. “There might be a vote as well.”

She added: “The members of the Cabinet know some of the details and are going to go into more details this afternoon.”

An anonymous Israeli official previously said the security Cabinet would make its decision on Tuesday evening.

A senior Israeli official and Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib appeared optimistic that a deal could be agreed on.

An agreement between Israel and Iran-backed Hezbollah in Lebanon could clear the way for an end to the conflict that has killed thousands since last year’s October 7 attacks and Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza and subsequent air strikes and ground operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Israel to act ‘forcefully’ if Lebanon cease-fire breached

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has told the UN’s Lebanon envoy that any breach of a cease-fire deal that the security Cabinet is set to vote on would result in Israel acting directly.

“If you do not act, we will do it, forcefully,” Katz told envoy Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert when meeting her in Tel Aviv.

Katz added that Israel would have “zero tolerance” when defending its security interests in the future, according to a statement from his office.

“Any house rebuilt in south Lebanon and used as a terrorist base will be destroyed, any rearming or terrorist organization will be attacked, any attempt at transferring arms will be foiled, and any threat against our forces or our citizens will be immediately eliminated,” said Katz in the statement.

IDF calls for evacuation of parts of southern Beirut

Israel’s military has issued a new evacuation message for the southern suburbs of Lebanon’s capital, Beirut.

In a post on the platform X, the Israel Defense Forces’ (IDF) Arabic language spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, published maps showing several buildings and called on civilians nearby to evacuate.

Adraee told residents to maintain a distance of 500 meters (1,640 feet) from the sites, saying that they were “near Hezbollah facilities and interests.”

Israel has ‘no excuse’ not to implement Lebanon cease-fire — Borrell

EU top diplomat Josep Borrell has urged Israel to approve a US-mediated proposal for a cease-fire deal with Hezbollah in Lebanon.

“There is not an excuse for not implementing a cease-fire … No more excuses. No more additional requests. Stop this fighting. Stop killing people,” Borrell said.

The EU’s foreign policy chief stressed that the deal “gives Israel all the security commitments they were asking for.”

Borrell said that Lebanon had asked for France to be included in the deal’s implementation committee, but Israel expressed misgivings about the idea.

Referring to the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, Borrell called for European countries to fulfill their obligations under international law.

“You cannot approve of the court when it goes against [Russian President Vladimir Putin] and oppose it when it goes against Netanyahu,” he said.

Last week, the ICC issued warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant, as well as the Hamas leader Mohammed Deif, for alleged war crimes in Gaza.

In March 2023, the court issued warrants against Putin and children’s rights commissioner Maria Lvova-Belova over allegations of unlawful deportation of Ukrainian children.

Israeli Cabinet to discuss Lebanon cease-fire proposal

Israel’s wartime Cabinet was due to meet on Tuesday to vote on a proposed cease-fire deal with Lebanon’s Hezbollah militant group.

US National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby said talks were progressing.

“We believe we’ve reached this point where we’re close,” he said, adding “we’re not there yet.”

Meanwhile, the Reuters news agency cited Lebanon’s deputy parliament speaker, Elias Bou Saab, as saying that the agreement had already been approved by Lebanon’s government and that there were “no serious obstacles” towards its implementation.

Hezbollah’s political wing is part of Lebanon’s governing coalition, and the group has endorsed parliament speaker Nabih Berri to negotiate with Israel.

US news outlet Axios reported that Israeli forces would withdraw from Lebanon under the draft agreement, with Lebanese forces deploying near the border and Hezbollah moving heavy weapons north of the Litani River.

The proposal includes a provision under which Israel would reserve the right to act should Hezbollah violate its obligations.

The Litani River lies around 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) to the north of the Israeli-Lebanese border. Israel has repeatedly called for Hezbollah to withdraw from areas south of the waterway, citing the terms of a UN resolution that put an end to the 2006 war between Israel and Hezbollah.

News of the planned cabinet meeting came as Israel’s military carried out a wave of airstrikes on Monday. Lebanon’s Health Ministry said that at least 31 people were killed in the attacks.

Meanwhile, months of negotiations between Israel and Palestinian militant group Hamas, mediated by the US, Egypt and Qatar, have failed to produce a deal for a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip.

Earlier this month, Qatar said it had suspended its mediation efforts and that they would only resume once “the parties show their willingness and seriousness to end the brutal war.”

It may not be Tinubu but power can’t return to North In 2027 – Okupe

Ex-presidential aide to former President, Goodluck Jonathan, has emphatically declared that the presidency will not return to the North in 2027.

Okupe, who made the assertion on Monday during an interview, tackled those agitating for the Northern presidency in the next election.

He identified sectionalism as the “most fundamental problems why Nigeria is stagnating”, stressing that “those who control the affairs of this nation, in terms of politics before now, were more interested in national interest than sectional interest”.

He stated, “I say this authoritatively without any fear of contradiction or equivocation, in 2027, power cannot return to the North yet. That’s not how we do it.”

“We rotate between the North and the South. The North does eight years, at the end of which the South does eight years.

“I’m not saying that Bola Tinubu must be president in 2027, but it’s not going to be a northerner,” he explained.

Open Letter to Tinubu: Imo Bleeding Under Uzodinma’s Leadership, Says Fabian Ihekweme

His Excellency
Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR
President And Commander In-Chief Federal Republic of Nigeria
Aso Rock, FCT
Abuja.

Dear Mr. President,

MISMANAGEMENT OF IMO STATE HUMAN AND FISCAL RESOURCES BY GOV. HOPE UZODINMA

A Call For Mr. President’s Intervention Before Imo Slides Into A State of Anarchy.

I am constrained to write this open letter to you Mr. President. I decided to make it an open letter because the issues are very weighty and must be greatly worrisome to all concerned Nigerians especially to those of us from Imo state.

Mr. President, with deep sense of humility, I am seeking your gracious and timely Intervention to save the people of Imo state from brutal annihilation by the Imo state Corrupt Absentee Governor, Sen. Hope Uzodinma. The Governor of Imo State, who was sworn in to protect lives and properties of Imo people but ended up becoming the Modern “Anti-Christ King Ahab” who institutionalized baalism which was completely divorced from Yahwism, claims that he is above the Law because, he has Immunity, to waste Imo State Fiscal Resources as he deems fit. It is a tragedy.

The five years reign of Hope Uzodinma sofar has brought untold insecurity, hardship, agony, pain, deprivation and poverty on the land of Imo state. Our Children and youths are dying, due to hardship rulership of Uzodinma. The peace loving people of Imo state, have been seriously battered and killed by the caustic and corrosive government of Hope Uzodinma.

Since Uzodinma took his first oath of office on the 15th of January 2020, Imo state has witnessed rampant killings of Citizens which have become a rule not an exception. He has de-marketed the All Progressives Congress (APC) Party

in Imo State through severe administrative Wickedness. First, he dismantled every established instrument of governance in the state and bequeathed to himself as the only source of power “Sole Administrator” in the whole state and carries himself like an Ancient Roman Emperor. Unfortunately, Imo Citizens have become his plebeians.

Every sector in Imo state has collapsed. The Governor has shut down everywhere, puts the state under lock and keys and went back to Abuja where he resides and continues his profligacy lifestyle. He visits once every two or three months just to show appearance and renew his presence, or to host a seminar, where he lectures his displaced citizens ironically, on good governance.

Prior to the burial of the President of Ohaneze Ndigbo Chief Engr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu of the blessed memory on the 1st of November 2024, the Imo state governor had already spent 48 days outside Imo state. He returned to Imo on the very day Chief Engr. Iwuanyanwu was being buried. He left immediately after the burial the next day and proceeded for Egypt, as Imo Pharaoh, where he spent one week trying to con and facilitate a loan of One billion five hundred million dollars (USD $1.5billion) from Afrexim Bank which has not been granted because of lack of due process on the part of the Governor. If by any accident Afrexim Bank grants the USD $1.5 billion loan, Governor Uzodinma will definitely waste the loan on his personal inordinate political ambition, Phantom projects and personal lifestyle upkeep. He was trying to curcumvent the laws of Nigeria where the National Assembly is empowered to approve foreign loans for federal government and states.

Mr. President, I am writing about a Governor who inaugurated his Exco (Cabinet) for over a year ago but has never held any Executive Council meeting with them, he purportedly forges Exco memo approvals for projects of his personal interest. Infact, most of his Commissioners and Advisers including other senior Aides have relocated out of Imo state because there is no responsibility assigned to them.

The Imo House of Assembly which he personally handpicked almost the 27 members, are completely paralyzed. He changes the leadership of the Imo House of Assembly every year on whimsical reasons. He suspends any member that raises any issue concerning Imo people’s interest on the floor of the House without his approval.

As I write, this Open letter, three members of the Imo State House of Assembly (Ahiazu, Oru West and Okigwe state Constituencies) are still on suspension for whimsical and unjustifiable reasons.

Only motions that seek to promote and sing praises of the emperor Governor, are allowed by the Speaker. Every other business of the day must obtain gubernatorial approval from his Abuja residence, before it is tabled at the plenary.

The Governor does not tolerate any dissenting Voice from Imo Citizens against him. He uses every available covert method to deal ruthlessly with any opposition or disloyalty against him, in a brutish and undemocratic manner. Nobody from Imo state enters Presidential Villa without his approval. If you try, it’s at your own peril. Anybody that achieves such feat without him, becomes his mortal enemy. He has virtually blocked all political appointments coming to Imo state that didn’t pass through him. He supplies mediocre individuals for Federal Appointments, a deliberate sabotage against the Federal Government progress. There are so many examples: Mr. President. But the one that captured the attention of Imo people was the zoning of APC National Organising Secretary to South East and was further micro zoned to Imo state, but Governor Uzodinma, used his offices and relocated that party position to another zone, precisely to South West.

The Governor doesn’t waste time in humiliating anyone who dares him. Before the death of Chief Engr. Iwuanyanwu, the President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu graciously took Chief Engr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu to see Mr. President. Since that incident occurred, Gov. Uzodinma developed so much resentment on the Deputy Speaker and surreptitiously started treating him as a mortal enemy. What was the Deputy Speaker’s offence? The only offence was that he took Ahaejiagamba to see Mr. President. Sadly, at the burial ceremony, the Rt. Honourable Deputy Speaker (DS) of The Federal House of Representatives showed up at the church service before the interment, the Governor of Imo State allegedly instructed his protocol officers to ignore the Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, there was no respect, no recognition and he was not allowed to Speak.

In Igbo Culture that action of the Governor, is disrespectful to both the dead and the living and ironically it took place in the Church service, only an “Anti-Christ” could bring simple political issue in the presence of parishioners and God, unforgiving and unrepentantly. The Governor was there enjoying the fun and stamped his seal of approval as the highest political office holder from South East, the gentleman Deputy Speaker of House of Representatives, was being publicly embarrassed. In addition, People see that not only as a disrespect to the legislative arm of Government but a calculated and brindled effort to ignore constituted authority from the Federal level. The Governor did not stop at the Rt. Hon. Deputy Speaker, he meted the same treatment to Governors Alex Oti of Abia State and Mbah of Enugu state. However, one of the reasons for pulling down the protocol against those visiting Governors, was because he didn’t want to face public humiliation (booing) of his people which has become a normal occurrence each time he appears in the public and coupled to the fact that those two Governors are the best performing Governors in the South East, mentioning their names alone, would have shaken the foundation of that church in admiration. So he never allowed them to speak. Mr. President may wish to put the Governor of Imo State on notice not to repeat such a degrading malfeasance again.

Mr. President, the Governor of Imo state has succeeded in cowing down respectable sons and daughters of Imo state. Anyone that dares him or criticises him will face the full wrath his ruthlessness and indignation. As we speak, a popular Roman Catholic Radio Show Host and whistle blower Chinonso Ubah popularly known as NONSONKWA has been on chains in the police cell for the past one month for speaking truth to power. NONSONKWA was picked up for telling the Governor to stop misusing Local Government funds frivolously and he has been charged to court for cyber stalking of Governor Uzodinma and his co-travelers. Mr. President, Imo people will be grateful to you, if you order the Inspector General of Police to wade into this matter and ensure that NONSONKWA is released and discontinue the phantom allegations and charges brought against him.

In the final analysis, Imo people will be eternally grateful, if you (Mr. President) will intervene into the insecurity, food crisis and mismanagement of Imo State Human and Fiscal Resources by Governor Hope Uzodinma.

The entire state of Imo is bleeding as the Governor has been unable to curb insecurity, he is unable to restore social order and has failed to discharge credible leadership. Gov. Hope Uzodinma has also failed to offer sustainable dividends of democracy and improve worker’s welfare. All he does, is to sit tight in Abuja and shuttle in and out of the country wasting Imo tax payers money in frivolous lifestyle.

Mr. President, we need your intervention to direct Hope Uzodinma to go back to his state where he is still carrying our mandate as the Governor. He can’t be wasting our resources outside Imo state with no semblance of governance from him. There is no sign of governance in Imo state as the Governor diverts the monthly state allocations to his private pockets, siphones LGA FAAC allocations, misappropriates 13% oil Derivation and other accruals including Internally Generated Revenues and on top of that, the Governor is into excessive borrowing spree, leaving huge debt burden on the state. Uzodinma is obviously behaving like someone sent to come and punish the people because he has succeeded in reversing every indices of progress in the state. Imo is now stagnant, unproductive, inert, motionless and dead. The Governor sits in Abuja and hear stories of how his people were being slaughtered everyday and he utters no single word in condemnation, rather he keeps himself busy receiving purchased awards from different organisations and institutions. How on Earth can Imo Governor be honored with award of excellence on Industrial Development when in actual sense, the Governor has not built even a factory that can employ ordinary five people. Imo is in dire need of your intervention Mr. President.

May God continue to strengthen you and keep you far away from the likes of Hope Uzodinma.

Long Live Imo state
Long Live Federal Republic Of Nigeria.

House Committee On Publlic Petitions Summons CCEECC, Ministry Of Transport And Ministry Of Foreign Affairs
Spread the love

There is a petition by Benson Olugbo and Company against Ministry of Foreign Affairs, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), Chang’an University, Xi’an, China, and Chinese Police, for gross human rights violation and unlawful deportation of eight (8) Nigerian students from China.

According to the petitioner, the Honourable Minister of Transport has stated in a meeting, that everything possible should be done to ensure the affected students graduate with their mates by June, 2024, and do not suffer further hardship as a result of their deportation from China. The Honourable Minister also emphasized that the five students who had completed their course work successfully, with only the final project pending, must be accorded unfetterd access to submit and defend their project online for possible graduation by June, 2024.

For the only student with deficiency in internship grade and project defense, the Minister emphasized the need for CCECC to arrange for the student to do his internship in CCECC and the report sent to Chang’an University, Xi’an for grading, prelude to his online project submission and defense, for possible graduation in June, 2024. The Minister also stated that CCECC should facilitate the online examination for the two students with deficiencies in some courses, as well as online project submission and defense for possible graduation in June, 2024.

The Honourable Minister also directed that the Parmanent Secretary, Minister of Transport should write to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and request for a statu report in respect to two detained students in China, namely: Muhammad Sani Auwal (Sani), Male, Nigerian, Undergradudate, Major in Rail Transportation, 2020 cohort. And Chimeka Chinyere (Chinyere) Male, Nigerian, Undergraudate, Major in Civil Engineering, 202 cohort. The Minister requested regular updates on the status of the detained students. He also directed the Permanent Secretary, Minister of Transport to write to the Nigerian Embassy in China, through the Minisrty of Foreign Affairs and request for the results of the drug tests carried out on the students while in China.

The Minister reiterated that the issue of visa cancellation can only be further discussed when the allegation of drug abuse against the students is resolved. He directed CCECC to pay the withheld and continue paying monthly stipends of the students in local currency until they graduate, to enable them continue with seamless project preparation.

The Minister directed that a WhatsApp platform be published to accommodate parents/students/CCECC and Minister of Transport staff to coordinate and monitor responses in compliance with resolutions passed during 3rd April, 2024 meeting at the Minister of Transport’s conference room.

According to the petitioner, the deported students were allowed to write the outstanding examinations online, complete their internships and defend their projects. Five of the students successfully graduated on Saturday, 22nd June, 2024, while the remaining three have some outstanding examinations and will hopefully graduate during the next academic session. The students wers also paid their outstanding allowances as directed by the Honourable Minister of Transport.

However, the two students from the same cohort noted above (Sani and Chinyere) are still detained in China and under investigation for alleged crime of money laundering. And the Nigerian embassy in Beijing has been granted access to them.

However, due to the circumstances surrounding this case, the petitioner pleaded with the Committee to intervene and seek for the return of the students to Nigeria, as was the case with their counterparts who were deported to Nigeria.

Base on the above, the petitioner requested for the intervention of the Committee on the following demands on behalf of the victims:

That the Federal Government of Nigeria through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Nigerian embassy in Beijing, should pursue a diplomatic solution to this issue, as the students have been in China since 2019, and their status as students is currently in jeopardy due to the allegations levelled against them.

Secondly, there is need to ascertain the status of the students, as most of their colleagues have graduated, and their academic pursuits are currently in limbo.

Thirdly, that both CCECC and Chang’an University, Xi’an should ensure that the students graduate from their studies, as was done with their classmates.

The petitioner concluded in pleading with the Committee for quick intervention in the cause of the victims, because of the current uncertainty surrounding their academic pursuits.
