Toke Makinwa shared 10 things about love that she wishes she learnt earlier.

The media personality also added a bonus point in her post which was made on Valentine’s Day.

She wrote: “On love day, here are 10 things alongside 10 slides I wish I learned earlier.. 10/10

“1. Out of everything you gotta beg for in this life, never let love be one of them.

“2. If you have to constantly repeat yourself, it’s either they are committed to not hearing you or they don’t care enough. Stop telling people what they already know, that long paragraph won’t change the obvious, let them go.

“3. While in life negotiations are inevitable, keep them centered around (money, where you live, job positions, vacations etc), never let your self worth be one of them.

“4. You are your one true love, never forget that ????

“5. Nothing will bring you more peace than your mental health, prioritize this and never ever compromise that for nobody.

“6. It is better to adjust your life to their absence than to lower your boundaries to accommodate the disrespect.

“7. Love is a beautiful thing, it won’t always be easy but as long as you are BOTH committed to working it out, it is usually and in most cases worth it.

“8. Never ever settle. Who you pick to do life with is the second most important decision you’ll ever make in your life, It can make or break you.

“9. Being single is not a death sentence, enjoy your time alone, discover YOU, love You how you want to be Loved.

“10. The greatest love story is the one you have with your creator, he is madly in love with you, his love never changes and it will never fail.

“A bonus one, red flags won’t turn green, it’s not a traffic light baby, never let anyone show you twice that they don’t want you.

“Ok byeeeeeee.”

Nigerian singer-songwriter and actress Tiwa Savage has revealed that she has no plans to sign upcoming artists, citing the stress and responsibility of managing musicians.

The ‘Somebody’s Son singer, instead said, she wants to focus on building an ecosystem where African artists thrive independently.

Speaking in an interview with Forbes Africa on Thursday, Savage explained that handling artists can be overwhelming, and she does not feel equipped for the role.

“Everyone always asks me, ‘When will you sign an artiste?’ I don’t think I have the gift to sign another artiste, because artistes are stressful. I could just be sleeping, and then I will wake up and my artist is trending for something else,” she said.

“But I do have the gift to help, which is why I am trying to do the music school, where you can go and later sign to a label that can actually help you,” Savage added.

Savage also stated that African artists should focus on building their own thriving music industry instead of constantly seeking validation abroad.

She said, “Why are we trying to break into another market? We should build our own to be the one others try to break into.

“If we had the right infrastructure, affordable data, and investment, we would not have to chase validation elsewhere.”

Having built a career spanning Afrobeats, jazz, and even film production with her 2024 debut as an executive producer on Water and Garri, Savage is thinking beyond music. “I want to go into my mogul era – billionaire Tiwa Savage,” she declared.
