Success Daily Devotional: Genesis 21:9

On the day that Abraham decided to celebrate the birth of Isaac, Sarah saw the son of Hagar mocking. In Sarah’s moment of celebration, a mocker arose.

In her moment of celebration, a spoiler arose to spoil her celebration. In her moment of good news, someone made an attempt to contaminate her good news. Sarah’s good news already arrived; the spoiler didn’t stop the good news, but he attempted to create bad news around it.

Beloved, hear me as I hear the Lord: every spoiler that shall arise in the day of your good news, may the thunder of heaven strike them down.

May God silence every mocker and every spoiler that wants to mess with your good news. May God embarrass those who want to embarrass you in your day of celebration. May God shut up the mouths of your mockers. May God cause the schemes of wickedness against your good news to perish.

The son of Hagar did not stop the celebration, but attempted to create an atmosphere that could kill the celebration. Every spoiler that wants to create what will swallow your celebration, may God Himself interrupt them. May God shut up the mouths of those who want to kill your good news with their words. May God push out those whose presence wants to make a mess of your new season. May God Himself dismiss your spoilers. I declare: Every spoiler that wants to contaminate your celebration, let fire answer, in Jesus’ name! Happy Friday! Good morning beloved of the unchangeable God.

Bishop David Abioye has launched a new church following his retirement from Living Faith Church, founded by Bishop David Oyedepo.

Abioye announced the launch of his church via his verified X page, saying Sunday morning se vices would commence on May 4, 2025.

He wrote: “Exciting news! By the grace of God, starting next Sunday, our service is moving to the morning — 8:00AM.

“It’s a new day for you — come ready to be blessed mightily in Jesus’ name.

“Mark your calendars, set your alarms — we can’t wait to see you there! Tag someone you’re inviting!.”

Abioye was a former Vice President of Living Faith Church aka Winners Chapel.

In October 2024, Living Faith had retired Abioye, a former vice-president alongside Thomas Aremu.

They were retired following a policy review that pegged the mandatory retirement age for leaders at 55.

Aremu was 67 years old while Abioye was 63 at the time of retirement.

Following his retirement, Bishop Abioye had initially launched a non-denominational ministry that held evening services every Sunday.

The Vatican said on Monday that the conclave to replace Pope Francis will begin Wednesday, May 7.

Cardinals are expected to convene at the Vatican to begin the process of finding a new pope, who will become the Catholic Church’s 267th leader.

Ekwutosblog reports that with the passing of Pope Francis, who presided over the Roman Catholic Church for 12 years, attention has been turned to the selection of his successor.

As part of the process, a conclave is to be held to determine a new pontiff as usually done after a pope’s death or retirement.

Pope Francis had been selected during a conclave after Pope Benedict XVI, citing age and faltering health, stepped down from the post in 2013 after eight years as pontiff.

It was the first time any pope had stepped down from the papacy in nearly six centuries.

Bishop T.D. Jakes on Sunday, handed over leadership of The Potter’s House congregation to his daughter and son-in-law.

Jakes announced the decision months after he suffered a massive heart attack while preaching at the church.

The church said this move had been years in the making but it came just months after a near-tragedy.

“You have been faithful to God, and you have been faithful to me. “And I’m so grateful,” he told the congregation during Sunday morning’s service at The Potter’s House.

Holding back tears, Jakes confirmed that his daughter and son-in-law, pastors Sarah Jakes Roberts and Toure Roberts, will take over in July.

“I’m grateful, I’m honored, as your daughter,” Sarah Jakes Roberts said.

“I’m so happy you’re going to get some rest.”

T.D. Jakes, who founded The Potter’s House in 1996, admitted that getting hospitalized after suffering a massive heart attack on stage, factored into the decision.

“I cannot afford, especially after November, to risk something happening to me and you be sheep without a shepherd,” he added.
