Wike’s Aide Calls Imo Born Rep Member Ugochinyere a “Political Hushpuppi,” Criticizes His Focus on Wike

Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media to the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has described House of Representatives member from Ideato North and South Federal Constituency of Imo State, Imo Ugochinyere Ikeagwuonu, as a “political hushpuppi” who was produced by part of the aberrations in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) that must be made to stop.
Olayinka, who told Ugochinyere to “stop going about masturbating about anything Wike,” admonished him to face the reason for which he was elected into the House of Representatives so that his constituents will stop seeing him as a failure and consistently passing votes of no confidence against him.
While featuring on Channels TV’s Politics Today on Friday, Ugochinyere, had said that the FCT Minister and other G5 Governors like Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, former governors Samuel Ortom (Benue), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu) and Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia) were determined to destroy the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
However, in a statement in Abuja over the weekend, Olayinka said, “This is one of the things you get when people who joined the PDP today are awarded the ticket of the party tomorrow morning.
“If not for the aberration in the PDP that produced a character like Ugochinyere, someone who only joined the party in 2022 won’t be the one to lecture us about who is loyal to the party and who’s not.
If PDP had functioned properly, would a ‘political hushpuppi’ like Ugochinyere have gotten the party’s ticket while still in another party?
“Even till today, as a PDP Rep member, Ugochinyere is still holding on to his Action Peoples Party (APP), using it to cash-out in Rivers State.
“Therefore, we on this side are not bothered because we understand why Ugochinyere must now mount the podium and accuse Wike of playing childish and kindergarten politics.
“He must satisfy those feeding him from the resources of Rivers State.
While mocking Ugochinyere for always having an organization to speak for to carry out his political hustle, Olayinka said, “In saner climes, such character would have been arrested, tried and jailed for impersonation.
“When he got to the House of Representatives and there was no title under which his political hushpuppism would continue, he awarded to himself a non-existing title of ‘Spokesperson of Opposition Lawmakers Coalition in the 10th National Assembly,’ claiming to have been so appointed by the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP).
“But the questions are, is CUPP a political party with members in the House of Representatives? Where and when was CUPP registered? Apart from the positions of Minority Leader, Deputy Minority Leader, Minority Whip and Deputy Minority Whip, is there anything like spokesperson of opposition lawmakers in the National Assembly?
Being a political hustler that he has always been, Ugochinyere, knew that he will be contravening the rules of the National Assembly by allocating to himself, a non-existing position, but he just must have a title to keep his hustle going, and indeed, it has been booming.
“Impersonating as spokesperson of opposition lawmakers in the House of Representatives, Ugochinyere has been cashing out in Rivers State in particular.
“If he is not using his former party, APP, to cash-out, he will be using his amorphous opposition lawmakers to chop from inside the Rivers.”

“It is a fact that since the creation of Ebonyi State, no governor has ever ruled for just one term. History supports continuity, and today is no different”.
“Now, a few individuals who once watched from the sidelines are trying to distract and confuse the people. But their imagination only reveals the content of their own minds. Ebonyians know better”.
He stressed that the party would not succumb to any intimidation or force from any individual or group.

Governor Nwifuru’s led administration is focused on building a stronger, better state, one that is greater than it was met. Governance is a continuum, and this present government is committed to sustaining progressive policies for lasting economic and infrastructural growth, Ogbuatu added.
He noted that the State APC under the chairmanship of Chief Stanley Okoro-Emegha has met will aggrieved members during his tour across the 13 Council areas and 171 wards, and assured them of reconciliation, peace and inclusiveness.

The Nigerian House of Representatives has established a 19-member ad-hoc committee to oversee the administration of Rivers State following President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency.
This decision comes amid a political crisis in the state, primarily driven by a power struggle between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike.
The committee’s formation aligns with the Senate’s resolution to invoke Section 11, Subsection 4 of the Nigerian Constitution, granting the National Assembly authority to set up an oversight body for Rivers State’s governance during the emergency period. Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas was sworn in as the sole administrator of the state, effectively sidelining local governance structures.
The House’s action has sparked debate, with some questioning the constitutional process, including claims of insufficient votes and lack of communication with Speaker Tajudeen Abass.

The Minister of Works, David Umahi has described Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State as President Bola Tinubu’s son.
Umahi said President Tinubu holds Sani very dear because he is trusted and a good man.
He spoke during the launching of the second phase of the Kaduna-Abuja-Kano road.
The Minister promised to return to the state within 30 days to appraise the progress of work done on the roads.
He said: “I know what I’m talking about when I say Uba Sani is the son of the president because I have been fortunate and privileged to stand between the two of them and see how dear he is in the heart of president(Tinubu).
“He is a man that is trusted, he is a man that is tested. He is a performer, an infrastructure guru, and he is a good man.
“I want to thank my younger brother in the Ministry of Works, we are one family and one people.
“So, I’m fortunate to have the Perm Sec and the Director of Works. We are rewriting the history of Ministry of Works, we are bringing a lot of innovations that would put our nation’s road infrastructure to a point of no return.
“I assure you that in the next 30 days, I will come back to reappraise the progress of work, I know that Mr governor does not have the patience of waiting for 30 days but if I know the time he will come, then I will come ahead of him.
“I don’t want any bad news to go to the president but I’m fortunate that he’s my friend. I bless God that you are the one to President the president in flagging off this section two of Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano road for now.”
