The Senate has officially declared the Anambra South Senatorial and Edo Central seats vacant and has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct by-elections to fill them.

INEC were asked to conduct election in Anambra South Senatorial seat which has been vacant since the passing of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah in July 2024.

In Edo State, Okpebholo, was elected as governor which prompted him to vacate his Senate position, leaving Edo Central Senatorial district without representation.
