The House of Representatives has threatened to arrest the management of Dangote Cement for not attending the investigative hearing.

The committee is investigating the arbitrary increase in the price of cement in Nigeria.

The management of Dangote Cement was absent during a previous hearing.

The committee has also summoned the Cement Manufacturers Association of Nigeria and the Central Bank of Nigeria to appear before it within the next two weeks.

Section 89 of the Constitution gives the National Assembly the power to issue a warrant of arrest to compel appearance for the purpose of an investigation.
