Atiku criticizes the APC government while praising the resilience of Dangote Refinery, saying it overcame numerous obstacles to succeed.
Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for 2023 elections has stated that Aliko Dangote, the founder of Dangote Group faced multiple challenges before successfully initiating operations at his refinery.
Atiku accused the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led governments of implementing reforms that have negatively impacted the private sector, while making this remark.
He called on the Nigerian authorities to put into action measures that could establish a conducive atmosphere for private enterprises to flourish.
Atiku wrote on X, stating that Nigerians are cognizant of the numerous hurdles Aliko surmounted to attain this victory.
For the private sector to invest, create jobs and stimulate growth, it is imperative that the government implements more accommodating regulations in a seamless manner.
Since 2015, the APC-led government has inflicted devastating harm by introducing complex and unsustainable “reform” measures that undermine private sector trust in our economy and repel investors from our nation.
As Nigeria moves towards achieving energy self-sufficiency, there are significant milestones to reach. I trust that Aliko will persist in providing steadfast support for this journey. – AA
Dangote declared on Tuesday that his refinery in Lagos, which has a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, had begun producing fuel.
During a press conference, Dangote stated that the petrol production from the refinery will decrease reliance on imports and subsequently reduce inflation while strengthening the Naira against the dollar.
Once discussions with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited are concluded, the business tycoon stated that petrol produced by the refinery will be released onto Nigeria’s market.
He further revealed that the pricing of petrol from the refinery will be determined by the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
