Boeing 737 Incidents Raise Concerns: Skid In Senegal, Tyre Burst In Turkey Two separate incidents involving Boeing 737 passenger planes have occurred, one in Senegal and the other in Turkey, drawing renewed attention to safety concerns surrounding the aircraft manufacturer.
In Senegal, a chartered Air Senegal Boeing B737-300 skidded off the runway during takeoff at Blaise Diagne International Airport in Dakar.
The flight, operated by TransAir and bound for Bamako, Mali, carried 85 people, resulting in at least 10 injuries, according to the transport ministry.
Meanwhile, in Turkey, a Boeing 737-800 belonging to Corendon Airlines experienced a tyre burst upon landing at Gazipasa Airport near Alanya.
All 190 passengers and six crew members were safely evacuated. Although initial reports suggested the plane landed on its nose, Corendon Airlines denied these claims.
Turkey’s Ministry for Transport and Infrastructure noted damage to the nose landing gear.
