Kenneth Okonkwo Leaves Labour Party

Reason for Leaving:  Kenneth Okonkwo, a former spokesperson for the Labour Party (LP) presidential campaign council, has suspended his relationship with the Julius Abure-led National Working Committee of the Labour Party (LP)

He cited the party’s national convention as “tainted with criminality and corruption” and expressed his commitment to a new Nigeria, prioritizing principles over victory

No Accusations Against Peter Obi: There is no evidence that Okonkwo accused Peter Obi of being too weak or indecisive to confront national issues

Okonkwo’s decision to leave the party seems to be based on his disagreement with the current leadership under Julius Abure, not with Peter Obi

Okonkwo’s Political Journey: Okonkwo, a Nollywood actor turned politician, joined the Labour Party in 2022 after leaving the All Progressives Congress (APC)

He was a key supporter of Peter Obi during the 2023 presidential election.
