In a heart-wrenching incident early this morning, a newly appointed Divisional Police Officer (DPO) and several officers lost their lives in an ambush while executing a kidnap rescue mission near Agbarho Rail Station in Delta State. Another DPO, CSP Paul, is currently fighting for his life in a hospital.
According to Delta Human Rights Activist, Comrade Israel Joe, who shared the news on Facebook, this operation turned deadly around 1:00 am. The new DPO of Agbarho had just resumed his duties two days prior, making the loss even more devastating for the Delta State Command of the Nigeria Police Force.
Comrade Joe expressed his sorrow, stating, “This loss is heartbreaking. Just yesterday, I spoke with the DPO about maintaining the integrity of his officers. They bravely faced the criminals, and now, we must honor their sacrifice.”
He extended heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of the fallen officers, emphasizing, “None of these criminals should be spared.”
As of now, attempts to reach the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer for comments have been unsuccessful.
