The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello a fugitive and ordered his arrest on sight, following multiple unsuccessful attempts to apprehend him.

Bello is facing charges of money laundering, breach of trust, and misappropriation of N80.2 billion during his tenure as governor. EFCC Spokesman Dele Oyewale confirmed that the agency is working with local and international law enforcement agencies to ensure his arrest.

The declaration follows a Court of Appeal ruling ordering Bello to appear for arraignment on corruption charges. With his current whereabouts unknown, Oyewale warned that Bello cannot escape arrest, saying “Anywhere he is sighted, he would be arrested.”
