Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has confirmed the withdrawal of Nigerian Army personnel from Okuoma community.

Oborevwori disclosed the military had vacated Okuoma after discussions with Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja on May 6th, by May 8th,

This allows residents to safely return home and commence the process of reintegration and reconstruction.

The Nigerian Army’s took over Okuoma in response to a deadly attack on March 14th, 2024, where gunmen killed 16 soldiers, including a Lieutenant Colonel, 2 Majors, and a Captain.
