Nollywood actor and politician Desmond Elliot has finally spoken out about the recent allegations surrounding his sexuality. In a recent interview with TVC, Elliot denied the rumors, stating, “I am not gay”. He questioned the necessity of responding to unfounded claims, emphasizing that his focus remains on positively impacting people’s lives.

Elliot’s response comes on the heels of a controversial blogger’s allegations linking him and other public figures to homosexuality. This development has sparked concerns about the need for regulatory measures to curb the spread of misinformation and protect public figures from unfounded accusations.

As a renowned actor and Lagos State House of Assembly member, Elliot has been in the public eye for years. Born on February 4, 1974, in Lagos, Nigeria, Elliot has appeared in over 200 films, including “Men Who Cheat,” “Yahoo Millionaire,” and “Atlanta”. He has also received several award nominations, including the African Movie Academy Award for “Best Actor in a Supporting Role”.

Elliot’s political career began in 2015 when he was elected as a lawmaker in the Lagos State House of Assembly, representing the Surulere Constituency. He has since been re-elected and is currently seeking a third term.
