DG NTA CELEBRATES 2024 WORLD TELEVISION DAY.

The Director General, Nigerian Television Authority Salihu Abdulhamid Dembos, says the organisation joins the global community in celebrating World Television Day 2024, a day dedicated to acknowledging the profound impact of television in connecting, educating, and inspiring people worldwide.

This is contained in a statement the DG personally signed saying Television has remained a powerful medium for communication, fostering understanding and unity across diverse cultures and societies. That for over four decades, NTA has proudly served as Nigeria’s foremost broadcaster, committed to delivering quality programming that informs, entertains, and empowers our citizens.

While commending this year’s theme, “SHAPING THE FUTURE THROUGH TELEVISION,” the DG says it underscores the evolving role of television in driving societal progress, amplifying diverse voices, and promoting sustainable development goals.
He adds that as a public broadcaster, NTA remains steadfast in leveraging technology, creativity, and innovation to meet the demands of an ever-changing media landscape.
The Director General affirms the organization’s commitment to providing accurate and unbiased news coverage to keep Nigerians informed about local and global events.
He notes that NTA will continue to Offer educational and developmental contents that uplift and empower communities while celebrating Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage and showcasing our talents to the world.

As we navigate the digital era, he says NTA is investing in both Human and Material resources and partnerships to ensure every Nigerian, regardless of location, can access the power of television.
He enjoins NTA viewers and other stakeholders to continue to support her mission as the organization redefines television’s role in nation building.

The DG therefore reminded the people to take note of the transformative power of television as a medium that unites all, transcending barriers of language, geography, and ideology. He concludes that together, they can create a brighter and a more connected future.
