Former Minister of Women Affairs reacts to her dismissal by President Tinubu, sharing her thoughts on the sudden decision.

After being dismissed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former Minister of Women Affairs Kennedy Ohanenye publicly conveyed her gratitude for the opportunity to serve in the federal cabinet.

In her initial public response following the reshuffle, Ohanenye expressed her gratitude on X (previously known as Twitter), thanking President Tinubu and the Nigerian people for the opportunity to serve the nation.

After the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday, Ohanenye and four other ministers were relieved of their duties.

In her message, she looked back on her tenure in office and expressed that being part of the President’s cabinet was an honor.

During her tenure, the former Minister faced several controversies, including allegations of fund mismanagement. However, in her parting statement, she chose to focus on expressing gratitude and reflecting on the experience of serving at the highest level of government.

In the letter titled “Letter of Appreciation,” she stated, “I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for granting me the opportunity to serve as a Minister in the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It has been an honor and privilege to contribute to our Nation’s development.”

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Her invaluable guidance and support during my tenure as Minister of Women Affairs have been instrumental in achieving success. I am truly thankful for her kindness and encouragement.

To the people of Nigeria, I am profoundly thankful for your steadfast support. Your trust and confidence in me have continually inspired me.

I am dedicated to serving my country and will keep doing everything I can to help it progress and prosper.
