Everton’s proposed sale to the Friedkin Group collapsed after negotiations between the two parties failed to agree.

The American investors, led by billionaire Dan Friedkin, had entered a period of exclusivity to discuss a potential purchase on June 21.

However, on Friday, the Premier League club announced that no deal had been struck with majority owner Farhad Moshiri.

This marks the second failed sale attempt for Everton this year, following a previous breakdown in talks with 777 Partners.

Despite the failed sale, the Friedkin Group will remain a lender to the club, which was penalized twice last season for breaching Premier League financial regulations.

The group also owns a controlling stake in Italian club Roma. Moshiri, who acquired a 49.9% share in Everton in 2016, holds a 94% stake in the club.

Everton expressed gratitude to the Friedkin Group for their efforts and maintained a positive relationship with the investors.
