The Plateau State Government has announced a further relaxation of the curfew in the Jos-Bukuru metropolis.

Residents are now allowed to move freely from 12 noon to 6 p.m. daily until further notice.

In a statement issued by the Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, the adjustment is effective from Thursday.

This decision follows a security review conducted by Governor Caleb Mutfwang in consultation with security agencies.

Governor Mutfwang praised the public for their peaceful behavior during the curfew and urged continued cooperation with security forces to maintain safety in the region.

This development comes amid reports of violence and looting in some northern states during recent national protests over hunger and economic hardship.
