Ekwutosblog has gathered that the Alaigbo Development Foundation (ADF) has strongly asserted that any attempt to prevent Rivers State from producing the next President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo must be firmly resisted.

The group emphasized that Rivers State holds a constitutional right to succeed the late Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu in this esteemed role.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Coleman Chukwudelunzu, the president of ADF, expressed that those attempting to undermine the constitution of Ohanaeze Ndigbo are the primary adversaries of the Igbo nation. He also called on the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo to strictly adhere to the provisions of its constitution regarding the upcoming election scheduled for January 2025.

Chukwudelunzu declared, “Anyone who seeks to deny our brothers in Rivers State their rightful chance to produce the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo is an enemy of the Igbo people and the entire Igbo nation. We must unite to resist such moves.”

The ADF president further highlighted that in the past, individuals from other ethnic groups had interfered in the selection process of Ohanaeze President-Generals, and this type of interference would no longer be tolerated. He stressed the importance of upholding the integrity of the Ohanaeze Constitution and ensuring the right of each region, including Rivers State, is respected in the forthcoming election.
