A group has paid tribute to Lieutenant Commander Gideon Yashim Gwaza, a Nigerian Navy officer who died while saving 59 people from a sinking vessel.
He was the Base Operations Officer at the Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base BONNY and led the rescue operation.
Gwaza was a well-trained combat diver who lost his life while trying to save others, and his sacrifice will always be remembered.
