A devastating attack by gunmen in Congo and Zarap communities in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State has left at least eight persons dead.
The attacks, which occurred on Tuesday night, targeted residents who were relaxing after a market day in Congo community, and others standing in front of their homes in Zarap community.
According to Kefas Mallai, Chairman of the Community Peace Service in Bokkos LGA, the attackers struck around 7 pm, killing six persons instantly in Congo community, including a member of the Community Peace Service, Kenneth Kadish.
Two others were killed in Zarap community.
Mallai condemned the attacks and revealed that the matter has been reported to security agents, who have begun investigating the incident.
This latest attack adds to the growing insecurity in Bokkos LGA, where residents are living in constant fear and uncertainty due to repeated attacks on various communities.
