On Friday night, a shocking incident occurred at Elyon Paradise Ministry in Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State, during a vigil. Around 10 p.m., gunmen stormed the church, injuring Pastor Divine Omodia and abducting six members of the congregation.
Pastor Faith Omodia, the pastor’s wife, recounted the terrifying moments: “I was lying down with my baby in the church hall when I heard gunshots. Suddenly, bullets started flying inside the auditorium.” The chaos left several churchgoers, including women and children, injured.
Among those abducted are Helen Onwuamaeze, Ariyo Emmanuel, Chike Okolo, Blessing Waye, and two unnamed security guards. The Delta State Police Command has confirmed the attack, but updates on the victims’ condition are still pending.
Apostle Divine Omodia is currently hospitalized, facing severe injuries, including the amputation of two fingers. His family is asking for prayers and support during this difficult time.
