The House of Representatives has vehemently refuted allegations of soliciting a bribe from the cryptocurrency company.
The denial comes in response to Binance’s recent claims of extortion by unidentified individuals in Nigeria.
Binance had accused certain entities in Nigeria of demanding substantial payments in digital currency purportedly to resolve issues faced by the company within the country.
Specifically, the allegations emerged following a meeting between Binance representatives and the House Committee on Financial Crimes.
However, during a session on Wednesday, the House of Representatives, led by member Kama Nkemkanma representing Ohaozara/Onicha/Ivo Federal Constituency, dismissed the bribery accusations and asserted its integrity.
Meanwhile, the House has resolved to initiate a thorough investigation into the escape of Binance Executive, Nadeem Anjarwalla, from the custody of the National Security Adviser (NSA) back in March.
