The House of Representatives has announced its intention to investigate claims that products from the Dangote Refinery are of inferior quality compared to imported ones.
Speaker Tajudeen Abbas revealed this during a visit to the refinery on Saturday, stating that a committee will be established to thoroughly investigate the matter and conduct testing of sampled products.
The move comes amid controversy over the quality of imported refined products in Nigeria.
The Speaker praised the refinery’s infrastructure, describing it as a significant asset in Nigeria’s quest for self-sufficiency in petroleum products.
Dangote Group’s President, Aliko Dangote, maintained that the refinery’s products meet international standards and are superior to imported equivalents.
The investigation aims to address concerns and provide clarity on the quality of locally refined products.
