Former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB), has urged the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) to lead the charge in rewriting Nigeria’s narrative for a better future.
Speaking during a courtesy visit by the NIPR governing council to mark the institute’s 60th diamond anniversary, IBB commended NIPR for its steadfastness in implementing its objectives and promoting a positive image of Nigeria.
He expressed his belief in the need for a new narrative for the country, saying, “I have always believed that we have to write a new narrative for this great country. And, as time goes by, our society will be a society that everybody will be proud to belong to.”
The NIPR president, Ike Neliaku, highlighted the institute’s achievements and plans, including the establishment of a Public Relations and Leadership University.
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Muhammad Idris Malagi, assured of sustained partnership with NIPR to achieve the national value chain policy.
