The Comptroller of Imo State Correctional Service Command, CC MO Okorie, has paid a familiarization visit to the Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma.

The purpose of the visit, according to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Henry Okoye, was to further strengthen the already established cordial working relationship between the Police and the Correctional Service in criminal justice delivery.

During the visit, the Commissioner of Police welcomed CC Okorie and his team.

The CP emphasized the vital role the Correctional Service plays as a gatekeeper in the administration of the criminal justice system and assured the comptroller of continued collaboration between both agencies to ensure the effective and secure management of custodial facilities in the state.

“The Imo State Police Command is dedicated to safeguarding our custodial centres and facilities. We are committed to working closely with the Correctional Service and other security agencies to ensure the safety and security of these essential infrastructures,” the press release stated.

The visit culminated in the presentation of souvenirs to the Commissioner of Police by Okorie, which the PPRO described as symbolizing the mutual respect and cooperation between the two agencies.

The new comptroller described the visit as a positive step in furthering the shared goals of both agencies in maintaining peace and order within the state and ensuring the smooth operation of the criminal justice system.
