Professor Benjamin Okaba, President of the Ijaw National Congress (INC), has cautioned President Bola Tinubu that Nigeria is on the brink of disintegration.
Okaba delivered his warning in a keynote address at the 2024 retreat of the Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria (APBN) in Warri, Delta State
The INC President emphasized the need for national unity and prosperity, stating that the Ijaw Nation and the people of the Niger Delta desire a more united, peaceful, and prosperous Nigeria.
Okaba lamented that despite its vast human and natural resources, Nigeria offers limited opportunities for its citizens to advance beyond their current state.
He attributed Nigeria’s struggles to political mismanagement, citing the country’s failure to establish greatness since independence in 1960.
Okaba noted that the return to democracy in 1991 has not brought respite from the nation’s challenges, instead introducing new complexities that threaten the Nigeria Project.
He urged professionals to work together to address Nigeria’s daunting challenges and ensure a united, peaceful, and prosperous Nigeria.
