Kenyan athletes are currently competing at the 2024 Paris Olympics, looking to make their country proud.

Although they haven’t won any medals yet, there’s hope the final week of the Olympic Games will bring opportunities to win medals.

A Jamaican sprinter was spotted wearing the famous Kenyan bracelet during the 400m hurdles.

Roshawn Clarke was in the fourth heat of the first round of the men’s 400m hurdles alongside Kenyan sprinter, Wiseman Were.

The Jamaican won the heat in 48.17 seconds to qualify for the semi-final. Were finished fifth and also booked his spot in the semis, per Olympics.com.

Besides wearing Jamaica’s beautiful kit, Clarke was sporting the Kenyan flag bracelet in his left hand.

Interestingly, Clarke has worn the wristband for years. On his Instagram, there are posts of him wearing it in 2023.

The flag bracelet, which symbolizes pride for Kenyans and has become an iconic cultural symbol, is not clear why Clarke wears it.

The 20-year-old finished fourth at the 2023 World Athletics Championships and is a contender to win a medal at the Paris Games.

Williams’ daughter wears Kenyan bracelet

TUKO.co.ke earlier reported that Serena Williams’s daughter was spotted wearing a Kenyan bracelet at the Paris Olympics.

Her father, Alexis Ohanian, explained that she got the bracelet from Kenyan Olympians in Paris after she asked for their pins.

Faith Kipyegon reaches 5000m final

TUKO.co.ke also reported that Faith Kipyegon had qualified for the final of the women’s 5000m.

The double Olympic champion will represent Kenya alongside Beatrice Chebet and Margaret Chelimo.

Kipyegon is a favourite to win the gold medal but will need to be on top form to beat Sifan Hassan and Ethiopian stars.

Transfer: AC Milan ready to offload Chukwueze in summer

Serie A giants, AC Milan will listen to offers for their Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze this summer.

Chukwueze, according to reports is no longer in AC Milan’s plans for next season.

The 25-year-old has struggled to impress since arriving at the San Siro from Spanish club Villarreal three years ago.

The Nigeria international was close to joining Premier League club, Fulham in January.

Chukwueze also turned down a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia last summer.

Clubs in the Premier League, LaLiga and Saudi Arabia are still interested in the pacy winger.

He has scored thrice in 24 league appearances for AC Milan this season.

Flamingos qualify for 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup

Nigeria’s Flamingos sealed a place in the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup after holding Algeria to a 0-0 draw in Blida.

Bankole Olowookere’s side won the final qualifying round contest 4-0 on aggregate.

The Flamingos dominated the second leg tie but were let down by their poor finishing.

The wintry conditions in Blida also made things difficult for the girls.

Algeria came close to winning the game one minute from time but were denied by the woodwork.

The Flamingos were eliminated by the United States of America at the quarter-final stage of the last edition of the competition.

This year’s edition of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup will kick off on October 17 in Morocco.

Copa del Rey final: Flick unveils Barcelona’s squad to face Real Madrid

Barcelona manager, Hansi Flick has named his side’s squad to face Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey final on Saturday night.

This year’s Copa del Rey final between Barcelona and Real Madrid will take place at Seville’s Estadio La Cartuja.

Barcelona head into the game following a 1-0 victory over Mallorca in their last LaLiga fixture, while Real Madrid also secured a 1-0 win against Getafe.

Flick has named a squad that includes the likes of Lamine Yamal, Ter Stegen, and Pedri to face Carlo Ancelotti’s men.

Ter Stegen, Cubarsí, R. Araujo, I. Martinez, Gavi, Ferran, Pedri, Ansu Fati, Raphinha, Iñaki Peña, Pablo Torre, Christensen, Fermín, Pau Víctor, Lamine Yamal, Olmo, F. De Jong, Kounde, Eric, Szczęsny, H. Fort, and Gerard Martín.

Kick-off is scheduled for 9 pm, Nigerian time.

Meanwhile, Barcelona currently sit atop the LaLiga table, ahead of second-placed Real Madrid.
