Sevilla FC announced on Thursday that their revered captain and veteran player, Jesus Navas, will be departing the club after the current season.

The 38-year-old full-back, boasting a remarkable career spanning 17 seasons with the La Liga side, will be concluding his illustrious journey with the team where it all began.

Navas, who has accumulated an impressive 688 appearances across all competitions for Sevilla, achieved a milestone by reaching his 500th La Liga appearance for the Andalucian side this week.

Throughout his tenure, Navas showcased his versatility, transitioning from a winger to a right-back, and contributed significantly with 39 goals and 119 assists for Sevilla.

His remarkable career has been adorned with eight trophies, including four Europa League titles, two Copa del Rey triumphs, the European Super Cup, and the Spanish Super Cup.

Despite a brief stint with Manchester City between 2013 and 2017, where he clinched the Premier League and two League Cups, Navas’s heart remained with Sevilla, as he returned to the club where he left an indelible mark.
