The House of Representatives Committee on Basic Examination Bodies has questioned the West African Examination Council (WAEC) Nigeria’s registrar about a N5 billion loan obtained in 2022 to purchase customised calculators for students.
The committee is seeking clarification on the loan and has requested relevant documents, including the audited statement of accounts from 2018 to date.
Additionally, the committee has asked WAEC to provide information on how many students benefited from the calculators and the expenditures that led to a N6 billion deficit.
