Barrister Nnaemeka Ejimofor, the lawyer representing Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has called on President Bola Tinubu to demonstrate his commitment to democratic values by personally engaging with Kanu.
Ejimofor argues that Kanu is widely misunderstood and that a private meeting with the president could provide clarity on his true intentions, which are rooted in a desire for good governance, equity, and a corrupt-free Nigeria.
He cites President Tinubu’s history of advocating for democracy and good governance as a basis for this appeal, suggesting that such an engagement could help address ongoing conflicts in the South East and redirect military resources to combat banditry and terrorism in other parts of the country.
