Police detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) of the Lagos State Police Command have apprehended a 48-year-old man named Charles Chukwudi for forgery and impersonation.
The arrest came after thorough investigations into reports of the suspect issuing counterfeit court documents to unsuspecting individuals. Upon his arrest, forged official stamps belonging to Chief Magistrate Admin, C/M Adeola Olatunbosun of Chief Magistrate Court I Yaba, and Magistrate A.B Ajiferuke of Magistrate Court Epe were discovered in his possession. Additionally, he was found with a fake police identity card and a manipulated passport photograph of himself in police uniform.
The fraudulent activities of the suspect were uncovered by court officials, prompting them to alert the police and launch an investigation. He was apprehended within the premises of Tinubu Court on Lagos Island on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, and has since been arraigned.
