Manchester United and Danish international Christian Eriksen are expected to part ways after the current season.
According to sources, despite signing a three-year deal with the club in 2022, no discussions have been initiated over a contract renewal.
Eriksen, who was part of Denmark’s squad in their 2-1 loss to Spain in the ongoing Nations League on Friday, has been a steady presence in United’s midfield since his arrival.
However, it appears his tenure at Old Trafford could come to an end as the club has yet to open negotiations for a new agreement.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, United are unlikely to extend Eriksen’s contract, and other factors, including the opinion of Sporting CP’s manager Rúben Amorim, will be taken into account as the club prepares for potential changes in the midfield.
At 32 years old, Eriksen’s future remains up in the air, with many wondering where the talented playmaker’s next destination could be.
