Media personality, Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi, has challenged Nigerians who frequently eat when visiting the bereaved.
In a post she shared on X, Gbemi inquired if eating at such gatherings doesn’t make them feel uneasy.
She wrote:
“Don’t argue with me. When you visit the bereaved, must you eat? Can’t you simply sit with them for a while and leave? Even if they offer you food, don’t you feel awkward eating? They are grieving, after all. Why are you adding to their expenses? Is there no food in your own home?”
Various followers took to her comment section to answer the question.
