Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho received a booking on Sunday after protesting a VAR decision that disallowed a goal during their 2-0 victory over Antalyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig.
Mourinho, in a unique protest, placed a laptop in front of a TV camera to showcase what he believed was proof that striker Edin Dzeko was onside.
Speaking after the match, Mourinho expressed his dissatisfaction with the ruling: “For us, it’s a good goal. I just want a VAR that helps the referee make the right decisions.”
This incident follows previous criticism from Fenerbahce’s chairman, Ali Koc, who had accused the league’s VAR system of bias.
In response, the league brought in foreign VAR officials for the remainder of the season.
Fenerbahce, currently second in the league with 16 points, will face FC Twente in the Europa League on Thursday.
