Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Accuses Godswill Akpabio of Sexual Advances

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has made shocking allegations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio, accusing him of making unwanted sexual advances. The allegations were made during an appearance on ‘The Morning Show’ on Arise News Channel in Abuja.

According to Akpoti-Uduaghan, the alleged advances began on December 8, 2023, when Akpabio invited her to his home in Akwa Ibom, where he allegedly made suggestive comments and physical contact. She claims that her refusal to yield to these advances has led to victimization and antagonism from Akpabio.

Akpabio’s wife, Mrs. Ekaette Unoma Akpabio, has dismissed the allegations as “wild imaginations” and maintained that her husband is a man of integrity who respects women. However, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the Country Director of ActionAid Nigeria, Mr. Andrew Mamedu, have called for a thorough and transparent investigation into the allegations.

The allegations have sparked a heated debate, with some lawmakers defending Akpabio and others calling for an investigation. The Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, Public Petitions, and Code of Conduct is expected to take up the matter.
