Ekwutosblog has gathered that Delta North Senator, Ned Nwoko, has emphasized that the push for the creation of Anioma State is not just a political agenda but a matter of justice and equity.
Speaking during the 2024 OTU Oka-Iwu Week, Nwoko explained that the establishment of Anioma State would play a significant role in advancing the Igbo people’s quest for balanced representation at the federal level.
In a statement issued by his media consultant, Mike Ogah Gabriel, Nwoko called for greater unity among the Igbo people, stressing the need to address the region’s social, economic, and political challenges. He pointed out that the current political structure does not sufficiently cater to the distinct needs of the region.
“The Igbo people must come together to achieve their collective aspirations. Unity is not an option; it is a necessity,” Nwoko stated. He further argued that the creation of Anioma State would provide the necessary platform for the region to express its aspirations and contribute to the broader goal of ensuring balanced representation for the Igbo at the national level.
For Nwoko, the call for Anioma State goes beyond politics—it is about achieving fairness and equity for the people of the region.
